Privacy Policy

Signature Gen (also listed on the App Store as Signature Generator: Esign) (“the App”) is developed and maintained by Alessandro Pace (“I”, “me”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles your information.

The App is designed with privacy in mind. The signatures, drawings, names, and images you create are processed and stored on your device and are not uploaded to our servers.

1. General Information

Signature Gen is a utility app that lets you create signature images in three ways: by drawing with your finger or Apple Pencil, by generating handwriting styles from a name you type, and by scanning a photograph of a signature on paper. You can then edit, organize, and export your signatures as transparent images. The App does not require you to create an account or sign in.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

The App does not ask you to create an account and does not collect your name, email address, phone number, or other contact details. There is no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, and no crash-reporting SDK built into the App. The App does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites and does not use Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework.

3. How Your Data Is Stored

All content you create in the App — including drawn signatures, typed names, generated styles, scanned images, edited images, and your saved-signature library — is stored locally on your device using on-device storage (SwiftData).

  • No cloud sync. The App does not use iCloud or CloudKit to sync your data. Your signatures are not sent to the cloud and are not accessible to us or to other devices unless you choose to export or share them yourself.
  • Temporary export files. When you export a signature, a temporary image file is created on your device so you can save, share, or copy it. These temporary files are managed by the system and are removed automatically.
  • Optional Photos saving. You may choose to save an exported signature to your Photos library; that image is then stored within your own Photos, which you control.

4. Permissions the App May Request

The App may ask for the following device permissions, only when needed:

  • Camera — used in the Scan feature to photograph a signature on paper so it can be cleaned into a transparent image. Photos taken for this purpose are processed entirely on your device and never leave your device.
  • Photo Library (read) — used to import a photo of a signature for the Scan feature.
  • Photo Library (save) — used when you choose to save an exported signature to your Photos.

The App does not request access to your Contacts, Location, Microphone, Bluetooth, or other sensitive data.

5. Third-Party Services

The App relies on the following third-party services for specific functions:

  • RevenueCat. To manage in-app purchases and subscriptions, the App uses RevenueCat. RevenueCat may receive an anonymous app user ID and standard, non-personal device attributes (such as operating system version, locale, and app version) in order to validate your purchases and entitlements. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email, or any signature content. You can review RevenueCat’s privacy practices at revenuecat.com/legal/privacy.
  • Apple. Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple’s App Store and StoreKit. Apple’s terms and privacy policy apply to those transactions: apple.com/legal/privacy.

Apart from these payment-related services, no other third party receives data from the App.

6. Payments and Subscriptions

Signature Gen is free to download and use for its core features. Some features are available through optional in-app purchases managed via RevenueCat and processed by Apple. Payment information is handled by Apple; we do not collect or store your payment card details.

7. How We Share Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. The only data that leaves your device is the limited, anonymous purchase and entitlement information described above, used solely to validate your purchases. If you choose to use the Share feature to send a signature to another app or person, that sharing is handled by you and by the system Share Sheet, and is governed by the destination app’s terms and privacy practices.

8. Data Security

Because your signature content is stored locally on your device, it is protected by the security of your device and its operating system. While no system can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure, we use reasonable measures appropriate to the limited data involved.

9. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

10. Your Choices and Data Rights

Because your data is stored on your device, you remain in control of it:

  • You can delete individual signatures, or all saved data at once, from the App’s Settings (“Delete All Data”).
  • You can prevent the App from saving to your Photos by denying the Photo Library permission in your device settings.
  • Uninstalling the App removes the locally stored data associated with it.

11. Links to Other Services

The App may contain links to other websites or services (for example, the App Store or third-party privacy policies). This Privacy Policy applies only to the App; we are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites or services.

12. Changes to This Policy

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when the updated policy is posted. I encourage you to review this page periodically.
